The Digital TV Systems with ISDB-T and DVB-T modulation are mainly used by Cable Operators or ISPs with distribution networks of coaxial cable, hybrid fiber optic and coaxial (HFC) networks, and even fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) networks.
The primary benefit of this modulation type is to leverage the digital tuners in televisions to capture Terrestrial Digital Television (DTT) signals. This translates to NO need for subscribers to use Set-Top Boxes.
Each system is designed based on the operator's specific conditions, considering sources of SD/HD video and frequency availability
It consists of a modern and compact solution that allows the operator to provide Analog TV service (usually with NTSC or PAL modulation) by receiving IP signals, whether they are generated or obtained locally or come from a main headend through a transport network.
These solutions are primarily used by Cable Operators who have a main headend and transport signals to smaller remote systems. They then distribute these signals to subscribers over coaxial cable networks, hybrid fiber optic and coaxial networks (HFC), and even fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) networks. However, the solution can also be used in main headends where analog modulation is required to obtain all the benefits detailed here.
